First Day of First Grade...

I LOVE school. Saying anything less would be an understatement. Once again, I have THE BEST teacher. Same first grade teacher T had. I loved her then and wanted to be in her class then. Now - it's my turn. She's super amazing.

When I saw that I was on her class list I was just beaming the remainder of the day. I even made her a special gift - a fleece monster to help us remember "not to be monsters in class." It was my first sewing project on Mom's machine and 100% my own design. I was quite proud. From what Mom hears, I am super good and already being helpful in class.

I chose to wear my Hawaiian clothes on the first day of class.

I am also super excited my best friend B gets to be in class with me.

Hawaii!!!!

For at least two years now (or at least since first watching A Barbie Mermaid Tale) I have dreamed of going to Hawaii. I pretend that I'm going to the beach all the time but yet I had never been to the ocean or the beach or on an airplane for that matter.

I actually spied on Mom when she was researching our family vacation so I figured out where we were going before anyone else. It was SO hard for me to keep it to myself.

It was no surprise that I LOVED the vacation and LOVED Hawaii. We went to Maui and spent every day at the beach. I swam and swam. I did plenty of snorkeling with Dad. He also took me to Lei making class. I thought it was funny that the "Hawaiian Ice" was called "Shave Ice" there because calling it "Hawaiian Ice" would be redundant. It's my favorite dessert, by the way. Cotton candy bubble gum is my preferred flavor.

Mom and Dad also say I was their best traveler. I carted around my suitcase that my Auntie J gave me and my back pack without any complaint or issue. I LOVED being on the airplane and relished every moment of the trip. I had a bed that overlooked the ocean and woke up every morning to stare out to the beautiful sea.

I did a lot of snorkeling and diving with Dad. I saw SO many fish! I also enjoyed seeing the sea turtles at the Ocean Center.

One morning we met Aunt T and Uncle Doc at the beach as they happen to be on the island at the same time. That was fun and I really enjoyed playing football with Uncle Doc.

I am back to pretending I am back in Hawaii but now I actually have lived it. When mom asked me what I would dream about now that my big dream had been fulfilled I replied, "Going back!"

Ss Sope Shop

At the last moment I was bumped from level 2 to level 3 gymnastics. This meant that the used competitive uniform I would be purchasing for $30 was no longer applicable to me and now I had to purchase a new one for $200. Mom and Dad felt I needed to earn the money to cover expenses so they helped me come up with the idea of making soap.

I did all the work on the first two batches and Mom helped with the third after the bender stick broke. It took 2 hours of stirring on that batch to finish up and I got tired. But I made 95% of everything. My soap was not perfect but I did it myself. I also made the flowers to wrap them. It was super hard work but I earned enough for my new uniform. I sold 127 bars of soap.

Here are the photos from my fundraiser.

Wellness Visit age 6

Almost 6 months behind schedule but better late than never. Plus, we've been a little busy around here.

I'm pretty tiny. Actually, I've fallen off my growth curve a bit so Mom has enlisted the help of my cousin the pediatric dietitian and sport nutrition expert so I should be able to get back on track soon. I just haven't grown much in 15 months. We all think this is because of how much I work out. I am at the gym 12-15 hours a week and then this summer I've also been swimming several additional hours.

Here are my stats:

Weight 37.4 lbs (5%)
Height: 44.8 inches (12%)

I do love gymnastics and would stay there all the time if I could. As it is, I work out extra when at all possible. I'm currently level 3 and will be starting competitions in the winter. I had to raise some of the money to cover costs. More on that later.

I love school. Kindergarten was the best! I loved my teacher. I enjoy my brother and sister very much and look forward to meeting my baby brother. Mom and Dad say I am their most unfiltered child. Here are examples:

"Dad, I LOVE your haircut. I can hardly see any gray hairs now."

"Mom, your new swim suit is lovely. I doesn't make you look as fat as you could." (talking about her maternity swim suit)

Upon asking a friend to help with carpool I want to take my messy snack in her car. Dad  asks said friend if it was alright to take the snack in the car and I pipe up and say, "It's okay, hers is like the 4th dirtiest car I have ever been in."

"Mrs. T you're old. I can tell because you have wrinkles on your face AND your hands."

Oh and I've been talking about going to Hawaii for years. But more on that later, too!
