This week I celebrated my first birthday. How did I celebrate you ask? With my first ear infection (left side) and my first course of antibiotics. I was pretty miserable with my high fever and accompanying chills. I even went about 20 hours without sleeping. However, my nurse practitioner gave me antibiotics and I was better within 24 hours.
Mom and Dad still pulled together a frosted sugar cookie with a candle and they along with big brother sang me the birthday song. I loved it so much I actually stopped crying for more than 5 minutes - I was really unhappy and in pain. I especially loved the candle - Mom had to hold my hands so I would not touch the flame.
I did have a family party the previous weekend and will post those photos soon. In the mean time, I made a second trip to the nurse practitioner's this week but this time for a wellness check. Here are my stats:
Weight: 18 lbs, 4 oz (25%)
Length: 29 1/4 inches (50%)
Head: 43 cm (5%)

Here I'm waiting to have my exam:
I was declared healthy and thriving. However, I did impress Nurse NM with my vocabulary. Evidently, I am "quite advanced" in that area.
So what am I saying?
Thank you

Dun, dun, dun...
Eeeeeeee...(this means something to me!)
What else am I doing?
I started walking just a couple days after my birthday. I'm still utilizing the potty. Some days I only use 2 diapers and some days I'll use as many as 8. But as long as I have a book or two I usually enjoy sitting there. I love playing with my baby dolls and especially love playing with my big brother (I think he is the coolest person EVER). I also love reading books and stacking blocks. My true passion is anything that has electrical cords attached. Mom and Dad are forever catching me getting into some kind of wiring even if it has been secured. I'm cleaver that way.
I have 5 teeth, almost 6. I am still taking two naps per day and sleeping 12 hours at night. Mom has been trying to introduce me to cow's milk but I really don't like it - her milk is still my preferred. However, I do like to eat a variety of foods from spaghetti and lasagna to chili and avocados.
I did get four shots - this was not the best part of my visit. And they did give me a fever - not the best situation particularly since I am just getting over my ear infection but since I was fever free we went ahead with the vaccines. Maybe it's just best to get it all out of the way at once - at least that's what we're hoping.
What a fast year this has been!
