Christmas Sickness...

It's been a rough week - we've all had a bad cold/virus but I seem to have been the recipient of the worst of it. It has been especially bad because I'm also getting that Christmas gift I asked for - my two front teeth.

It's also meant a lot of sleepless nights and missed naps but also lots of extra snuggle time with Mom and Dad. Luckily, I am on the mend.

Wooly Cuteness...

What do you think of my new wool diaper cover? It's made from a "up-cycled" wool sweater. It's super soft, super cute and not at all itchy. I seem to really enjoy wearing it!

Princess...

All I Want for Christmas...

Dear Santa,


All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth. The ones around them seem to be coming in but the front ones are not. It's causing me quite a lot of stress. Mom, Dad, Big Brother, and myself are all losing sleep over it.

If you could be so kind as to grant my request we would all be most gracious since we are all sleep deprived and boarding on non-stop grumpiness.

Princess Wave...Revisited

This was the first entry with a photo of my wrist wave or the "princess wave" as Mom and Dad call it.

After "Dada", "Nana" is my next favorite word. Mom is still holding out for me to say "Mama" next.

Bath Time Revisited...

So, although I can still fit in the bathroom sink, Mom has upgraded me to the "kids' tub". I LOVE swimming in it. She puts about a 1/2 to 1 full inch of water and I splash and roll and stand. And then when I'm clean, Big Brother jumps in and splashes with me.

Nine Months...

Today I had my 9 month well check.

Here are my stats:

Weight: 16lbs, 13 oz (15%)

Length: 27 1/4 inches (40%)
Head: 41 1/2 cm (2%)

Waiting to see Nurse NM - our original pediatrician went to strictly hospital work. And since Mom is becoming a nurse practitioner, we've decided to go with a pediatric nurse practitioner as my primary care provider.

No immunizations this visit, although, I did get a flu shot last week and I will be getting a booster in a few weeks. The bandage on my heel is from a heel poke to test my hemoglobin levels (15.3) so no iron deficiency here. However, we did talk about Vitamin D which I will be starting soon.

I was declared to be a very health baby - growing beautifully, albeit petite.

One other note - my hair is finally starting to come back in. After being born with a ton of hair and keeping that hair for many months, much of it recently fell out. Now I have a thin layer of dark fuzz. But Mom did trim my amazingly long bangs.

What I'm doing...
- Sitting up - it took a while for me to do this but a few weeks ago Mom decided to try it and I never fell over so all that "skydiving" (aka tummy time) made me very strong
- Beginning to pull myself up
- Saying "Dada" and "Nana"
- Give lots and lots of kisses
- Wave "bye-bye" - I wave at the wrist not the elbow
- LOVE playing with Big Brother - I think he's the COOLEST person EVER!
- I can take off my velcro diapers
- I do 90% of my #2s in the potty
- So far there is no food I don't like - especially finger foods and even the occasional carpet fiber
- Mom's milk is still my preferred snack for early morning, later evening, and mid-afternoon
- Still sleeping 14-16 hours/day
- But mostly crawling and exploring and being the "best baby ever" or so that's what Mom, Dad, and Big Brother say

Bath Time...Part II

I still take my solo baths in Mom's bathroom sink. For how much longer, I'm not sure. I particularly enjoy seeing the baby in the mirror.

Showing off my new tooth... For which I use to gum/chew organic banana puffs... And anything else Mom and Dad put in front of me - I love finger foods and so far there is nothing I won't eat!

First Word...

Big Brother's Hand-me-downs...

Mom and Dad jokingly say I'm the baby they had on a shoe-string budget. Aside from my cute reusable diapers, I've been wearing Big Brother's hand-me-downs. I don't mind it, and who knows, maybe someday I will be an astronaut!

Eight Months...

Because I had to go to the pediatric clinic this past week due to a bad virus, my first fever, we know that I weigh 16lbs 3 oz. I am starting to sit up and said my first word this weekend - Dada. I've already been signing "milk" and "more".

Breast milk is still a major part of my diet, but I also enjoy it mixed with various types of cereals. And on occasion I also enjoy some of Mom's homemade sauces - apple cinnamon is my favorite. Peach makes me gag and make funny faces. And I'm fine eating peas.

I crawl everywhere. Legos are my favorite toys. And I'm obsessed with getting into any kind of cord - scares Mom and Dad and makes me laugh. Big Brother T Rex is still my favorite entertainment. He will shake his head and I will do the same. Before I know it, Mom cannot feed me because I just keep doing what Brother does. It really gets us all giggling.

This is what this eight month old has been up to - can you believe how quickly time is passing?

New Toy...

A gift I received shortly after I was born. I'm now old enough to enjoy it.



Oh, I have to mention the outfit, too. From a large lot of hand-me-downs...
